Exchange Students

The Erasmus program assists staff and student mobility between European countries
within the European Union.

We welcome Erasmus Exchange Program or Bilateral Exchange Program students coming to IUT of Saint-Étienne (UJM) for academic year 2024–2025.

An Erasmus+ institutional agreement or a bilateral agreement signed between both institution in the specific subject of studies is needed.  If there is not a bilateral agreement or Erasmus+ agreement signed, the mobility will not be possible.

To apply as an Exchange student, you must :

  • Be a registered student in one of these colleges.
  • Be studying a subject area for which we have an agreement with your college.
  • Be chosen by your college for an Erasmus exchange program.

Apply as soon as possible as an Exchange student through the international officer of your present university, who will inform us about your application.

NOMINATION DEADLINES

To apply, you need to respect these Deadlines  :

  • Full academic year (September-June) from March 1st to May 20th
  • Fall semester (September-January) from March 1st to May 20th
  • Spring semester (January-June) from March 1st to November 30th

STEP 1 : NOMINATION FROM HOME UNIVERSITY

The official nomination is a mandatory requirement for the acceptance of students at Jean Monnet University/IUT of Saint-Étienne.

The international Office has to nominate students in the exchange program as soon as possible by completing the form available with a link available at iutri @ univ-st-etienne.fr

STEP 2 : APPLICATION BY NOMINATED STUDENTS

For ALL STUDENTS (Full academic year, Fall semester or Spring semester):

Once students are nominated, they will receive an e-mail from IUT of Saint-Étienne International Office with the procedure to apply online.

Then, they are required to fill in all the information requested in the application online. Application starts mid-May.

Documents to download on the application online:

  • Proposed learning agreement signed by him/her and his/her home University
  • Copy of Identity documents or passport
  • Identity photo
  • Proof of French/English language proficiency (if applicable)
  • Sworn statement civil liability insurance policy completed and signed

Application deadlines:

  • Fall semester and Full year mobilities: Before June 20th
  • Spring semester: Before November, 30th

MENTORING PROGRAMS

In order to help their integration in Saint-Étienne, incoming students can participate in one (or all!) of the three mentoring programs below :

Buddy System : Students will receive support from a local student, and develop a cultural exchange for the whole duration of their stay.
